Mary Ann grew up in rural Jasper County on a farm with a large forest of oak trees.. Spending most daylight hours outside  in the woods and fields surrounding the farm influenced the direction this artist has gone. Nature  has been a recurring theme in her work.

" I began my art career early when I could pick up a pencil or crayon I was always messing with art."

Taking time out for a business career from 1976 to 2009  she decided 3 years ago to pick up the brush again and plunge back into the field of art .  A solo show in 2009 marked the start of going full time in art. Plans are underway  for a 2011 Solo show at the TAF in West Lafayette, In.

 Expermenting with all aspects of art this artist is not afraid to try something new and stretch  herself as an artist.

 The results of that expirementation are collages, acrylic paintings, photography, raku, rust dyeing fabrics,textiles and cloth fabrications that speak of her  journey thru nature and life. I am sure there is more to come in the future.

She can be found in her studio set in rural DeMotte in the midst of landscaped gardens and the tall oak, pine trees and flowers creating art for you to enjoy.
